MAJORS FLYING CLUB SCOUT AVIATION WORKSHOP

Friday - Saturday, Oct. 7/8, 2016
6:30 pm – 3 pm OR Until every Scout allowed to fly has had their chance.
- Learn about the world of flight from people who own their own planes, work on aircraft and/or just love aviation.
- Accomplish most if not all requirements for an Aviation Merit Badge
- Participate in Ground School at your troops meeting place prior to the workshop
- Those Scouts whose parents are willing to sign a liability release form may get the chance to fly in a 2 seat or 4 seat aircraft, weather permitting.
Cost: $30.00/Scout due at time of registration, $45.00/Scout for late registration.
Participants must be registered Scouts 11 to 18 years old.
Troops are welcome to camp out at the airport Friday night. Troops camping should arrive between 5:30 and 6:30 PM to pitch tents on the grounds south of the terminal. Troops will be responsible for their own tents, Friday dinner, Saturday breakfast, Blue Cards (Boy Scouts only) and Aviation Merit Badge. Friday evening snack, Saturday mid morning snack, lunch and a fun patch are provided. Ground school handouts, printed tests, use of aircraft, fuel and pilot’s time are all donated.
Every youth scout must submit a Majors Flying Club Dependent Release of Claims form signed by their parent at time of registration.
This event is intended for scouts who have not yet earned their Aviation Merit Badge.
Maximum Capacity: 50 Scouts
